The upcoming Aavegotchi Rarity Farming Season 8 has been announced with a significant 150,000 GHST prize pool and various new features aimed at enhancing the competitive experience for participants. Aavegotchi is a distinctive Web3 game that combines NFT collectibles, decentralized finance (DeFi), and gaming to provide an engaging and immersive experience. These pixelated ghost NFTs, known as Aavegotchis, possess unique traits that impact their rarity and abilities within the game.
The tournament schedule for Season 8 comprises several key dates for participants to take note of. Registration for the 10K GHST Tournament is open from June 17 at 2 PM to June 24 at 2 PM UTC, followed by the registration for the 40K GHST Tournament from July 1 at 2 PM to July 8 at 2 PM UTC, and finally, the registration for the 100K GHST Tournament from July 8 at 2 PM to July 15 at 2 PM UTC. Each tournament round will begin 12 hours after the registration period ends, with subsequent rounds starting 12 hours after the preceding round concludes. Exact timings will be provided shortly after registration closes.
Participating in the Tournament
Players interested in joining the tournament must visit the Gotchi Battler website, choose the tournament they wish to participate in, and click the “Create Team” button. They will then select five Gotchis and have the option to add two substitutes to form their team. It is essential for players to designate a team leader and decide on their formation. Once the team configuration is final, players can save their setup and get ready for the competition.
For individuals who do not have the required Gotchis to participate, the “Gotchi Lending” tab on the tournament page offers a solution. Players can rent eligible Gotchis to strengthen their teams. Additionally, players with unused Gotchis can lend them to others via the official Aavegotchi dapp, earning GHST tokens in return. It is recommended that the lending period be 168 hours (7 days) to cover the registration duration and ensure that wearables remain unchanged before the tournament begins. Lenders are advised to set the upfront cost based on their Gotchi’s Base Rarity Score (BRS) and the prize pool of the tournament.
Enhanced Features: Double-Elimination Tournaments and Substitutes
This season of Aavegotchi Rarity Farming introduces double-elimination tournaments, providing participants with two opportunities to compete before being eliminated from the competition. In the event of a loss, a team will transition to the loser’s bracket, where they can fight their way back to the top. Moreover, teams now have the option to have two substitutes, allowing players to interchange Gotchis between rounds. This flexibility enables better adaptation to opponents’ strategies and can play a crucial role in securing victory.
Between each round of the tournament, there will be a preparation phase where teams can make strategic adjustments to their lineup. During this phase, players can swap Gotchis, change the team leader, and modify the formation, providing a tactical advantage in the upcoming battle. This phase allows teams to analyze the opponent’s strategies and make necessary changes to improve their chances of success.
